About us

Under the guidance of the CPC GTIIT Committee and the supervision of News and Public Affairs Department, GTIIT Student Media Center is a press corps composed of GTIIT students, with the purpose of "enriching and enlivening campus culture". It provides abundant hands-on opportunities in journalism and social media. Any enrolled student can create and share content that interests them.

What will you gain? 

• Professional training: Enhance your skills in news writing, photography, video editing, on-camera reporting and more.

• Hands-on opportunities: Cover various campus events and get up close with academic experts and industry leaders.

• Showcase your work: Get your work published on GTIIT's official platforms, with top entries recommended to mainstream media outlets, and even municipal, provincial, or national competitions.

• Recognition and rewards: Selected works will receive remuneration, and excellent contributors may be awarded the title of "Outstanding Student Journalist".

Departments

The Center has three departments: News Writing Department, News Photography Department and Design Department, with more to come. We encourage students to join different groups to diversify your skills.

• News Writing Department: Interview and write campus news in both Chinese and English. Talk to leading academics, cook up creative stories, and define GTIIT life through words.

• News Photography Department: Master pro equipment, take photos of campus activities, scenery, etc., and shoot and edit videos.

• Design Department: Posters, banners, publicity materials, creative layouts – turn your imagination into designs that pop and make every visual count.

• Self-introduction: Submit a self-introduction of at least 100 words, indicating your preferred department and reasons for joining us. Attach any articles, pictures, videos, designs, paintings or other personal works if you have any.

• Email format: Use the subject line "[Application] name + department + grade + program" to news@gtiit.edu.cn

• Deadline: September 20, 2026

Successful applicants will become members of the Student Media Center.
